What is My Beach Mobile?
My Beach Mobile is your all-in-one digital beach app. In select New Jersey municipalities, My Beach Mobile lets users purchase and use digital beach tags/badges, shuttle passes and recreational area passes, all from your mobile device. Simply sign-in, purchase a digital pass using a debit or credit card, and show the unique QR code to gain access. That’s it! No need to worry about losing or forgetting your passes, an no need to pickup physical passes.
Is there a fee for using the app?
Yes, there is a fee for using the My Beach Mobile app to purchase digital passes. The purchase price includes all third-party payment processing fees, as well as a small fee charged by My Beach Mobile.
Is the My Beach Mobile app safe?
The My Beach Mobile app uses Stripe Connect payment API for safe and secure third-payment processing. The My Beach Mobile app also full end-to-end encryption for all private and personal data. We are fully registered and insured.
How does it work?
Using the My Beach Mobile app, users can purchase digital passes from registered municipalities. Depending on the location, these digital passes can be used to access the beach, shuttle and/or recreational areas. Once purchased, the digital passes remain in the user's account until they expire. Accessing the beach, shuttle or recreational area is as easy as opening the app and presenting the unique QR code.
Are beach tags transferable?
Depending on the municipality, yes. Please see our FAQ Section on transferability for more information.
Can rental owners share beach tags/badges with their tenants?
Yes, but only if the municipality permits sharing within the app. For example, if a rental owner buys six seasonal beach tags/badges, he or she will be able to transfer those seasonal tags/badges in one week increments to their tenants for reach rental period. The tenants will receive beach tags/badges valid for one week, and will be able to share those beach tags/badges one additional time within that week. This is helpful for situations where two or more families are renting together for a week. The rental owner can share the six weekly beach tags/badges with one of the tenants, and then that tenants can share them amongst themselves. Once the beach tags/badges are shared by the tenant to the other tenants, no other sharing is possible. (NOTE: This feature is only available where authorized by the municipality. Please check with your municipality before purchasing).
Can I purchase a physical pass in the app?
Yes, some municipalities offer physical beach tags or badges that can be purchased in the app. Physical passes must be picked up at a specified location. Check the app for more details.
Can a beach a tag/badge be shared more than once?
A beach tag/badge can only be valid for a single user at any given time. If a seasonal or weekly beach tag/badge is shared, the person receiving the beach tag/badge will also be able to share it one additional time, but no other sharing is permitted. Daily beach tags/badges can be shared but have to be shared for the entire day. Daily beach tags/badges can only be shared once and only by the original purchaser.
